Water Change & Turnover Guidance

To maintain healthy water quality in your pond, it is generally recommended to change 10% of the pond volume weekly. With this in mind, we recommend setting the Nexus Automatic Cleaning System to run in line with this schedule, so each cleaning cycle also helps perform a water exchange.

In addition, maintaining a good pond turnover rate is essential for efficient biological filtration. Ideally, the total volume of your pond should pass through your filter every 2 to 3 hours. The Nexus Automatic System helps support consistent flow and optimal bio-filtration by keeping your filter media clean and unobstructed.

How It Works

Once installed and connected to power, the system automates a full cleaning cycle using a smart control box and integrated components. It monitors time intervals and handles all functions hands-free, either on schedule or at the push of a button.

Gravity-Fed Setup Cleaning Cycle:

1. Timer initiates the cycle
2. Circulating pump turns off
3. Inlet slide valve closes; air is redirected to EAZY chamber
4. Media is agitated to dislodge waste
5. Waste valve opens, draining dirty water
6. Final rinse occurs before valves reset
7. Filtration resumes

Pump-Fed Setup Cleaning Cycle:

1. Timer activates cleaning sequence
2. Circulation pump turns off
3. Air redirects to the EAZY chamber
4. Filter media is cleaned and waste is drained
5. Air returns to the bio-chamber
6. Pump restarts and system resumes filtration
