The Mountain Tree Lotus Root Nitro Ring II – Marine Water is a high-performance ceramic bio-filtration media specifically developed for marine aquariums and reef filtration systems. Engineered with Mountain Tree’s advanced lotus root porous structure and oblique ring design, this media provides a highly efficient environment for beneficial bacteria to colonise and thrive.

The super-porous ceramic structure allows water to penetrate deep into the ring, creating ideal conditions for both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. These beneficial bacteria help convert harmful ammonia and nitrite, while internal micropores support denitrification processes that break down nitrate into nitrogen gas, contributing to improved water quality and long-term stability in marine systems.

Formulated with a special low-silicate ceramic composition, the Marine version is safe for reef aquariums and helps reduce the risk of nuisance brown algae, making it suitable for coral, fish and other marine organisms.

The unique bevelled (oblique) ring shape helps disrupt water flow within the filter chamber, increasing contact time between water and bacteria while maximising available filtration space.
